Understanding what commercial and financial restraints there are on the union in particular throughout the off season. My biggest beef or ask for improvement is around the communications. The stake holders the community - rugby fans need to have up to date information in particular with the available forums you have - Website/Facebook/Twitter.
In my view during the season right now there should not be a day go buy where there is not a story to be told about Otago Rugby teams etc.
I hate looking at old dated websites photos of teams from last year, information not updated etc. this year I would have rung twice just to notify the coms team to change editorial as it is old and dated.
Engagement is a must to keep fans from diverting to other products out there and I am wanting to see more in this area... $$$$$ I can here you.
the lead into the season has been great imagine how much better with a creative social media team fully resourced would do to put more numbers in the stand and more interest in the product. Spend money to make money!

I think we should have a gold coin day for the shield game against Canterbury with a media hype to match and try to get 10,000 to help us hold the shield against Canterbury. it could be a massive opportunity for past and present shield stars to feature ….

Hi my sone henry has got the opportunity to play at Otago in the Mitre 10 which is awesome, and he's having a great experience at the same time as doing a good job on the pitch = win / win.
But the point of this feedback and your request for it is that from the UK and there are many people following Henry, it is very difficult to follow him.
In the UK it would be possible to daily see some clips / interviews from training or whatever else the players are involved in. There's a regular dialogue. After that the team announcement with some commentary and then a match report after.
I appreciate that this takes time and resources, and i suspect that the social media culture isn't as demanding in NZ as the UK.
But the fact that I've told people to search the ODT for info rather than the Otago website is a shame.
So in summary more immediacy, a few features, news, up to date team announcements and match reports.

Separately which is equally important the way you guys "play rugby" in the Mitre 10 cup is terrific. In simple terms it's about playing / scoring rather than just stopping the other team as often in the UK
I have been an otago rugby supporter for over 70 years and have seen many a great games and players at the old carisbrook ground but not so many at the new stadium. lived in southland for 20 odd years but only went to rugby park when otago was playing there, l have been living in the north lsland, palmerston north for the last 5 years now and still only follow otago.
It was explained there were no Mussels Available. It was not explained that Tiger Prawns were substituted with Cheap Vietnamese Farmed Prawns on all dishes ordered with Tiger Prawns. The Plates were cold so food went cold quickly. The Salad was limp, old and sat like a lump of green mush on the side of the plate. It looked and tasted like Pub food but at three times the price. Corkage Seven Dollars Fifty. On our table of Six, No one was pleased with how appalling this attempt at being a Restaurant was. The Half Star is for the Service.
