excellent service, animals were well looked after and wonderful being able to take the dogs out during the day while we were on holiday in wanaka.

We were on a road trip around the south island. We had booked for the Easter Sunday for our two dogs while we went to see the Warbirds over Wanaka air show. We arrived there to find a stone surface, ramshackled raised kennels that had what I can only describe as tattered canvas roofs over the them. THere was nobody there when we arrived to look at the place the night before. When I discussed with the owner the next day that we did want to leave our dogs there he was hesitant to refund our money, however we were prepared to let that go. The owner believes that north islanders have a different idea of how a dog is regarded. While I admit our dogs are spoiled, to have someone in attendence, to have a little grass around, to have fully enclosed kennel is the least a dog should have at a paid kennels.

Thought I must write and put forward my experience. Nearly did not use Wanaka Boarding Kennels after reading one of these reviews! Thought about Central Otago being very dry and stoney so would not expect green grass in middle of summer. Christmas time is huge down there so obviously they have to ensure their income when people change their minds. My first experience was April 2012 the first time my dog has stayed anywhere - our dog had a great time, came back much more confident and really seemed to enjoyed being with other dogs. We were so satisfied we again had him there in January 2013 - They even had time to give him some one on one and little training was great. Will return again! Can recommend a great outdoor environment for your dog and to met some mates!
