Result but not without a fight
Finally a solution but not without a fight. It was the manager of the department (Hayden) I was dealing with and I have no idea why he made it so hard. He made it out as if either Harvey Norman or Samsung were going to be hugely put out to refund/replace the tv, I'm sure both companies have costings that take into account a certain % of faulty goods in which case its no skin off their nose. To constantly quote the consumers guarantee act at me was not his to quote, that is my protection not the retailers. I have been polite and patient through it all and up until today have tried to keep my cool, but have felt patronised on each occaision I've delt with them. Hayden you need to learn how to deal with customers and put them fist instead of trying to proctect the company, ultimately the consumer pays your wages and less consumers puts your job at risk. All in all I'm appalled at the way I have been treated and will never spend my money at Harvey Norman again.

I'm having a terrible time with a lcd tv bought from Harvey Norman, only had it 6 months and it needed fixing, now been "fixed" 3 times and Harvey Norman refusing to either refund or replace the unit, worst customer service I have ever experienced!
