Otago Cricket Association Otago Cricket: More players, better players and more supporters.

Otago Cricket is the sporting body responsible for administering Cricket in the lower half of the South Island. Otago Cricket consists of four districts (Dunedin, Southland, Otago Country & North Otago) and is one of six Major Associations in New Zealand engaged in Domestic Cricket.

Otago Cricket's responsibilities include the administration and promotion of cricket at all levels, grass roots through to our flagship Volts & Sparks representative sides. Our goals are pretty simple, more players, better players and more supporters.

Within our area we have a number of fantastic First Class and International Grounds including the University Oval, Queenstown Events Centre, Queens Park and Molyneux Park. Our ranks currently include BLACKCAPS and WhiteFerns captains Brendon McCullum and Suzie Bates.

Our commitment to the amateur game includes being in schools, working with clubs, running age group programmes and offering professional coaching. The path to being the next Volt or Spark starts at an early age!

Extremely helpful and keen to assist my enquiry about potentially using Otago Cricket's Longroom as an event venue. Excellent facilities.

Parking could be an issue for us to hold events during the day, and for this reason, we have decided to hold our lunch event elsewhere.

However, I will be sure to keep this venue at the forefront of my mind for future events. Great that presentation facilities are included.

Thanks for great service and a great venue for our annual Polson Higgs conference. The entire firm enjoyed themselves immensely.
Would not hesitate in recommending the Longroom as a venue to anyone.

KVC Theresa

Communication / organisation of cricket could be improved through emailing BOTH Theresa and Jeremy (we were still receiving emails this year for a Sports Co-ordinator who left here about 10 years ago). This issue now appears to have been resolved.....Our previous Girls coach (Steve Henderson) found information about Girls cricket frustrating at times.

Historical issue - mainly around cancellations on a Wednesday......

Who is in charge of the Wednesday Girls Comp?

It does seem to have been better this year.

We don't have many genuine girls cricket players but still would like to let those who play know about opportunities they might be entitled to.

Theresa doesn't worry about Boys cricket too much because she knows Jeremy gets emails and looks after things -but she would appreciate being kept on an email list to remain aware of cricket issues.

Who is the Cricket Development Coordinator for KVC? Is it Tama ?(who isn't on the above drop down menu)

If KVC receive coaching from OCA - what is the cost to the school - is the coaching free from a CDC or a player on a retainer?

We were disappointed to hear Tama wasn't going to come to our Expo this year (due to our lack of a team). It was a relief to have someone come on the day - longer term thinking.
