Where to start. This company are the worst I've ever dealt with.
The do not listen to requests.
They do not repair the property.
They constantly break the Tennancy Act.
I ended up taking Property scouts to court. The owner lied through his teeth. My case was much stronger and solid than Milton's lies, which lead to me winning the case.
I'd never wish anyone to have to go through what they put me through. Absolutely terrible company to deal with.

P.S. the owner is the officer who got David Bain thrown in jail. He was found guilty for planting evidence, also guilty for lying in court. He still exercises these practices. This man cannot be trusted.

We relocated from Auckland to Dunedin and needed a short term rental until we found house to buy.
We found a 6 month rental with property scouts and entered into a 6 month agreement. Communication and service was Ok, nothing outstanding. About a month into contract we found a house to buy and asked if property scouts could find new tenants for the remaining months. They said they would try and that I had to pay a week's rent ($564) plus advertisements costs for trademe, which was another $219.25. We did this in a hope to save money as we were now paying rent and a mortgage.

I then found Property Scouts had advertised the property and that the rent was advertised at $570 per week ($6 more than what we were paying). I sent then an email asking for them to drop the rent and that I would cover any short falls.

Cut a long story short, they weren't very helpful at finding new tenants and we ended up staying for the 6 months.

Just thought I would let people know in case they may be in same situation, maybe worth checking with another rental company to see what their small print states about exiting an agreement.

My flatmates and I had an unpleasant experience with them.
To begin with, the vinyl floors at our flat was very sticky although our property agent had claimed that they had contracted some cleaners to do a clean-up of the flat. We were surprised that the flat passed the property entry inspection. We personally had to mop it several times upon arriving and the water in the bucket was black.

Secondly, we had a change of property agent mid-way through our tenancy, but were not informed of this change. So we'd been contacting our previous property agent who did not respond to our requests at some repairs till we found out much later that she was no longer working there.

Also, there was construction at a joint property which involved the use of our backyard. However, we were only told by our propertyagent that it would be a small portion of the backyard. We came home to see that a fence had been set up to obstruct access to our entire backyard, along with the laundry line and sitting area. Although our rent was waived, $3 off a week was insufficient considering the unexpected inconvenience caused to us.

Lastly, our bond refund form was signed and sent to the property agent (whom acknowledged receiving it) over 2 months ago but we have yet to receive our bond refund. 2 months later, we were told that they had no records of our bond refund form. After some calls and digging and waiting, propertyscouts found our form but said that they had been busy with a lot to deal with, so they had somehow missed out on our form. A delay in sorting out the refund would have been OK, but missing out our form altogether is quite different.

I am most disappointed with their services.
